A review of the Battersea Park Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) has found significant improvements
for residents, according to Wandsworth Council's Transport Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
Councillor Assange questioned the Cabinet Member for Transport, Councillor Nick Austin, on whether the CPZ had reduced problems for residents and if its impact would be reviewed. Councillor Austin stated that changes implemented following a 2024 review, including extended operational days and hours, have successfully discouraged commuter parking and ensured spaces are available for local residents.

Councillor Austin reported. He added that road safety improvements, such as double yellow lines at junctions, have also been introduced.
The significant improvements
are evidenced by a reduction in complaints and the improved parking conditions now being experienced by residents,
according to the meeting information. Council records indicate that complaints relating to the CPZ's implementation have been limited, suggesting no significant ongoing concerns.
While initial concerns were raised about the loss of parking spaces and visitor charges, Councillor Austin noted that these have largely subsided. Specifically, concerns regarding the requirement for visitors to pay for parking
have diminished, with the council receiving very few complaints regarding the operation of the CPZ
more recently. Consequently, the council does not consider a further review of the CPZ necessary at this time.
