A Lavender Hill bar, Hannah, is seeking an extension to its late-night licence. Wandsworth Council's Licensing Sub-Committee convened on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, to discuss the application for a variation of the premises licence at 281 Lavender Hill.
Heidi Battersea Limited, the applicant, wants to extend the hours for regulated entertainment and the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises. The proposed changes include extending recorded music hours by one hour (until 2:00 AM on Friday and Saturday mornings) and live music hours by three hours (also until 2:00 AM on Friday and Saturday mornings). The sale of alcohol would also be extended by one hour, until 2:00 AM on Friday and Saturday mornings. The council received two representations from local residents concerned about potential public nuisance, specifically noise from patrons outside and those leaving the premises late at night. These concerns relate to the public nuisance licensing objectives.
The Licensing Act 2003 requires the council to consider licensing objectives, including the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance, and the protection of children from harm. The sub-committee was reminded that any decision must be appropriate for the promotion of these objectives. Options available to the sub-committee include granting the application as requested, modifying the conditions of the licence, or rejecting the whole or part of the application.
