Heston Farm Estate residents can look forward to a modernised playground, thanks to collaborative efforts between the council and the community.

The Hounslow Council's Estate Improvement and Community Development teams are working with residents to create a larger, more modern playground on Heston Farm Estate. The project aims to transform the existing play area into a mixed-age facility that better utilises the available space. A significant sum of funding has been earmarked for the project.

According to the Area Forum Action Plan discussed at the Heston and Cranford Area Forum meeting on Monday 30 June 2025, a community engagement event is planned for later this year to allow residents to help shape the design of the new playground. The council has earmarked a significant sum to fund the project.

The Heston and Cranford Area Forum meeting, held at Heston Community Centre, also covered other local initiatives. Residents were encouraged to share ideas for improvements to public spaces and solutions to local challenges via the Area Forum Let's Talk page.

Other items discussed in the Area Forum Action Plan included:

  • Avenue Park Improvements: Residents have suggested improvements to Avenue Park, focusing on safety, accessibility, and better facilities. A steering group will be formed to guide future improvements, and interested residents can contact matthew.curtis@hounslow.gov.uk to join.
  • Fly tipping and ASB along the footpath adjacent to the Rectory Farm site: Police, Safer Communities, and Enforcement Teams are maintaining regular patrols to discourage antisocial behaviour. Henley's Orchard has been created through the Council's Grow for the Future initiative. Heston Action Group volunteers collected over 60 bags of litter in a recent clean-up. The council is exploring CCTV installation at Brabazon Road and is in discussions with BP Garage about coverage from their site.

  • Issues behind Vicarage Farm Road: A WhatsApp group with residents and businesses has been created to help reduce fly-tipping and improve local monitoring. New zig-zag markings have been completed to improve crossing visibility and deter unsafe parking.
  • Road safety and environmental improvements on Church Road: A 21-day consultation on proposed red route restrictions along Church Road is now live, and residents can submit feedback online. If no objections are raised, implementation will follow.
