Residents of Cranford are being invited to join a steering group to guide future improvements to Avenue Park.
The invitation was issued at the Heston and Cranford Area Forum meeting on Monday, 30 June 2025, as part of an update on the Area Forum Action Plan. The council is seeking residents' input to create a safer, more accessible, and inclusive community space.
According to the Area Forum Action Plan, residents have suggested several improvements to Avenue Park, focusing on safety, accessibility, and better facilities. Recent upgrades, such as the outdoor gym and refurbished playground, have already increased park usage.
Suggestions for further improvements include:
- A perimeter path
- More bins and benches
- Toilets
- Water fountains
- Improved signage
- Enhanced sports areas
While the delivery of these improvements depends on securing external funding, the council has committed to exploring options and adding these ideas to the Area Forum Action Plan. The council is currently exploring potential sources of external funding to make these improvements a reality.
