Harrow Council has confirmed the dates for its ordinary council meetings for the 2026/27 municipal year. The schedule, which was formally noted during the Annual Council meeting on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, outlines a series of gatherings throughout the year.

The Annual Council meeting itself saw several key decisions, including the election of Councillor Yogesh Teli as the new Mayor of Harrow for the 2026-2027 municipal year. Councillor Anjana Patel was formally thanked for her service as outgoing Mayor, and Councillor Mina Parmar was appointed as Deputy Mayor, with Ramji Chauhan serving as Chaplain. The meeting also confirmed the dates of forthcoming civic functions for the upcoming year.

Councillor Paul Osborn was elected as the Leader of the Council, with Councillor Marilyn Ashton notified as Deputy Leader. Various committee memberships and appointments were also made, including the designation of Róisín Madden as the statutory Director for Children's Services and an amendment to the Members' Allowances Scheme was agreed.

The agenda for the Annual Council meeting was extensive, covering items such as the notification of members of political groups, declarations of interest, procedural motions, council minutes, cabinet and committee memberships, appointments of chairs to council committees, and representatives to outside bodies. It also included reports on the use of the urgency procedure and remuneration packages of £100,000 or greater, alongside annual reports from the governance, audit, risk management and standards committee, and the scrutiny committee.

Jessica Farmer, Strategic Director of Legal and Governance Services, was responsible for the despatch of the summons and agenda for the meeting. The Mayor presides over the Council meeting.

  • Thursday, November 26, 2026
  • Thursday, February 25, 2027
  • Thursday, May 20, 2027

Following the conclusion of the Annual Council meeting, special meetings of the Licensing and General Purpose Committee and the Overview and Scrutiny Committee were held. It is not yet clear if any further extraordinary or special council meetings are planned outside of this ordinary schedule for the 2026/27 municipal year.
