Redbridge Youth Council is planning a football match between young people and the police to foster positive relationships within the community.

The initiative was highlighted during the Redbridge Council External Scrutiny Committee meeting on Thursday, 3 July 2025, where the Youth Council presented their annual update. The update included updates from Youth Members of Parliament (MYPs) Anusha Hossain and Yusuf Shobair, and Deputy Youth MP Inaaya Ijaz.

Yusuf Shobair met with Superintendent Claire McCarthy, Head of Neighborhood Policing in Redbridge, to plan the football match. The meeting also covered key manifesto points such as mental health support for youth, street safety initiatives, violence prevention education, and addressing child poverty impacts. The aim is to improve trust and awareness among young people through sports and engagement activities, following up on a public attitudes survey and the new Met for London plan consultation at Frenford Club.
