Hillingdon Council's Cabinet has approved new contracts for tree maintenance services across the borough, aiming to enhance the management and upkeep of the council's extensive tree stock. The decision, made during a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, 23 July 2026, saw the tree maintenance contract divided into three distinct lots to ensure specialised and efficient service delivery.
The contract was divided based on geographical areas and service types: Lot 1 covers North Highways and borough-wide emergency works, Lot 2 focuses on South Highways, and Lot 3 encompasses Housing and Corporate Sites.
Lot 1, covering North Highways and borough-wide emergency works, will be managed by Pro Landscapes at a cost of £2,470,269.19 over three years. Lot 2, focusing on South Highways, has been awarded to Glendale Countryside Ltd for £1,823,468.65 over the same period. Lot 3, encompassing Housing and Corporate Sites, will be undertaken by John O'Conner Grounds Maintenance Ltd at a cost of £546,618.04 over three years. Tenders were accepted from these companies for their respective lots.
The combined estimated value of these contracts over the initial three-year term is £4,840,355.88. The meeting information does not provide a total budget allocated for tree maintenance in Hillingdon or compare this figure to previous years' spending.
Authority has been delegated to the Cabinet Member for Residents Services, in consultation with the Corporate Director of Residents Services, to approve any extensions for a further two years.
