Sutton residents are encouraged to report all crimes to the police, as local crime statistics were reviewed at the Carshalton and Clockhouse Local Committee meeting on Tuesday, 8 July 2025.

The report pack for the meeting included an overview of crime statistics for the Sutton area, including personal robbery, residential burglary, commercial burglary, theft of motor vehicle, theft from motor vehicle, serious assaults amounting to Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH), knife crime, hate crime and domestic incidents. Councillors reviewed data on these crimes in the Sutton area. Other crimes tracked include serious assaults amounting to Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH), knife crime, hate crime and domestic incidents.

Notably, hate crime statistics for 2024 and 2025 were presented, showing a decrease from 33 incidents in 2024 to 18 in 2025.

At a previous meeting of the Carshalton and Clockhouse Local Committee on 14 January 2025, Councillor Andrew Jenner, Chair: Carshalton and Clockhouse Local Committee, explained that local councillors had contacted the police regarding concerns raised by residents about a rising number of vehicle thefts in the area. Residents were encouraged to report incidents of crime to the police, as reporting helps the police understand where incidents are taking place and to target resources.
