Redbridge Council is exploring the possibility of reinstating recycling collections on Eastern Avenue, following a suspension of the service after a serious accident. Currently, only general waste collection continues, with the support of a specialist impact protection vehicle.

The decision was discussed at a Shareholder Reference Group meeting on Wednesday 17 September 2025, where councillors reviewed the RCS (Redbridge Civic Services) Quarterly Performance Report for Quarter 1 of 2025/20261. According to the report, the council has been asked to review the provision of recycling collection services for Eastern Avenue.

The council is now looking at options to resume recycling services in the area.
