Three new retailers have expressed interest in taking space in The Glades shopping centre's former Debenhams store, according to a report given at the Bromley Economic Partnership meeting on 1 July 2025.
The report, which summarised updates from the April 2025 meeting, indicated that one interested party is an existing retailer seeking expansion, while the other two are a leisure operator and a gym operator. The existing retailer is looking for more space to expand their current operations.
The update from The Glades was part of a broader discussion among partner organisations at the Bromley Economic Partnership. Other updates included:
- Michael Rogers LLP reported an uptick in office market enquiries after a slow period.
- Your Bromley BID announced a business cyber security event planned for 25 April in conjunction with the Met Police.
- Bromley Adult Education reported a grade 2 rating from Ofsted and the delivery of AI training in immersive spaces across London.
- Splash Damage reported a 50% reduction in staff levels. The reasons behind this reduction were not provided in the meeting information.
- Churchill Theatre reported a successful FY25 with 200,000 attendees for 315 performances. The Snow White Pantomime for the previous year had been very successful and there had already been many advance bookings for the 2025 pantomime, which was Beauty and the Beast.
