The Churchill Theatre in Bromley has reported a successful fiscal year 2025, with 200,000 visitors attending 315 performances. This success is detailed in the public reports pack from the Bromley Economic Partnership meeting held on 1 July 2025 Public reports pack.
The news was shared at the meeting, where Lorna Strawson, representing the Churchill Theatre, provided the update. The theatre's success was attributed, in part, to the popularity of its Snow White pantomime from the previous year, as well as the high volume of performances offered. Advance bookings for the 2025 pantomime, Beauty and the Beast, are already strong.
Further details about the theatre's work experience programme were also provided at the meeting.
The Bromley Economic Partnership also heard updates from other partner organisations, including the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), Michael Rogers LLP, Your Bromley BID, and The Glades. The FSB is advocating for central government to encourage small business growth, reduce business rates, and simplify access to government contracts. They recently held a procurement event to help small businesses access tenders. Michael Rogers LLP reported a recent resurgence in the office market, with three significant enquiries received on the day of the meeting. Your Bromley BID is planning a business cyber security event for 25 April in conjunction with the Met Police, inviting all Bromley businesses to attend. The Glades reported interest from three new retailers in taking space in the old Debenhams store, including an existing retailer seeking more space, a leisure operator, and a gym operator.
