Bentley Wood High School in Stanmore is set to receive a new vehicle access and drop-off area, following a decision by Harrow Council's Planning Committee.

The plans, approved at a meeting on Thursday 25 September 2025, include the creation of a dedicated vehicle access and drop-off area, 16 staff parking bays, a cycle storage area, and associated infrastructure at the school on Binyon Crescent.

The development aims to improve access and traffic management at the existing educational facility. The need for additional staff parking bays was determined by the demand currently borne by the surrounding public highway network and sections of the site, according to report 2-03 - Bentley Wood High School Binyon Crescent Stanmore HA7 3NA. The report notes that the additional parking will help meet the demand currently impacting the surrounding roads and areas of the school grounds. According to the Planning Committee Agenda and Public Reports Pack, the Chief Planning Officer recommended the approval, stating that the proposal would bring forward improved access and traffic management to an existing educational facility.

The approval is subject to conditions outlined in Appendix 1 of the Public Reports Pack. The specific conditions are detailed in report 2-03 - Bentley Wood High School Binyon Crescent Stanmore HA7 3NA.

The Planning Committee, chaired by Councillor Marilyn Ashton, Deputy Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Planning & Regeneration, included Councillors Christopher Baxter, Samir Sumaria, Zak Wagman, Ghazanfar Ali, Peymana Assad, and Nitin Parekh.
