Wandsworth Council's Planning Applications Committee has approved plans for the redevelopment of Spencer Court on Wandsworth High Street to create nine new residential units.
The decision, made at a meeting on Thursday, June 25, 2026, will see the former office building at Spencer Court transformed into much-needed housing.
The approved plans include alterations to the existing building, minor partial demolition, refurbishment, and reconfiguration to change its use from Class E (office) to nine residential units. The redevelopment will also feature the addition of balconies, a roof terrace, associated landscaping, parking, cycle storage, and refuse storage.
During the committee meeting, Councillor Osborne raised concerns regarding the alleyway access for refuse disposal and fire engines, as well as the historical significance of the site. Officers confirmed that while direct fire tender access would not be possible, hoses could be used.
