Harrow Council's Cabinet is set to review a motion concerning the future community benefit of the Wealdstone Centre.
The motion, brought forward by Councillor Angella Murphy-Strachan and seconded by Councillor Yusuf Yusuf, notes the withdrawal of the Harrow Association of Disabled People (HAD) from operating the Wealdstone Centre and Red Brick Café.
Cabinet will assess options for maintaining and maximising community benefit from the site, including potential future operations by community, charitable, voluntary sector, or social enterprise organisations. The future of the site will also be considered as part of the wider Wealdstone Regeneration Programme, with a focus on accessibility, inclusion, community wellbeing, and social value.
The motion also calls for a commitment to the long-term future of Wealdstone Library within the Wealdstone Centre.
A report on this matter will be presented to a future Cabinet meeting.
