Tower Hamlets' 'Safe Homes, Great Services' Programme is underway, with a highlight report presented at the Housing Management (Cabinet) Sub-Committee meeting on 24 September 2025. The programme, titled Your Voice, Our Action, aims to improve housing services based on resident feedback.

While specific improvements directly resulting from resident feedback are still emerging, the programme places a strong emphasis on incorporating this feedback to drive service enhancements.

The Sub-Committee, chaired by Mayor Lutfur Rahman, reviewed the progress of the programme alongside other key housing management matters. The agenda included discussions on health and safety compliance, complaints compensation, and income collection policies.

Key areas of focus within the 'Safe Homes' programme include:

  • Health and Safety Compliance: The Sub-Committee considered six health and safety compliance policies covering asbestos, electrical, fire, gas, legionella, and lifts safety. The council approved the Housing Management Services 6 Landlord Health and Safety Compliance Policies.

  • Resident Feedback: The programme places emphasis on incorporating resident feedback to drive improvements in housing services.

  • Performance Monitoring: Regular reports on housing management performance and compliance are being presented to the Sub-Committee.
